IKIDS 2015 Summer Training Project came to an end yesterday evening with the Certificate Presentation Ceremony event held at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Well done for all IKIDS and parents who together with all local councils, Mayors, Councillors, Executive Secretaries and Council clerks, have contributed to make this years' another successful project

For this event, Hon Stefan Buontempo - Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government together with Mayors of local councils attended.

In his speech, Mr Abela spoke of the importance of parents in the academic development of children through the use of ICT. Mr Abela, explained the risks around the net, and how parents should be responsible to be part of this digital life. Giving some statistics on this project, where over 2500 kids attended across 65 councils around Malta and Gozo. 42 training centres used mostly setup in councils, and over 400 computers used. He had the time to hint the next project for Jan-2016 aimed at parents and elderly people to continue reducing the digital divide amongst generations, as well imposing the responsibility to Mayors and politicians to continue with this great collabortion and initiatives taken to make a better society.

Hon Stefan Buontempo II, spoke on the importance of local councils participation in such projects, that makes training financial viable for all, as much accessible to all the families. This is the way forward... creating harmonisation between the private and the public sector in order to be of a better service to the citizen. This is the agenda of the government i.e. being closer and more citizen orientated body.

Thanks goes to all TCTC administration staff that have also contrubuted heavily for the success of this 8th edition of IKIDS in the summer.
